I’m Massiel Valenzuela-Castaneda.
As a multifaceted individual, I wear the hats of a podcaster, book coach, and an accomplished writer, proudly serving as the CEO of Blackhearted Story Studios. My academic journey led me to a Bachelor’s degree in English with a focus on technical writing from San Jose State University. Fueling my passion for creative expression, I immersed myself in various writing courses and workshops, including the esteemed CSU Summer Arts program.
My literary journey has been marked by notable achievements, including the prestigious James Phelan Award for my outstanding creative writing. Transitioning into the realm of software technical writing, I honed my skills and later ventured into the realm of book coaching. Over the years, I’ve collaborated with remarkable authors, delving into both faith-based literature and the fascinating world of science fiction. Notably, I served as a manuscript reader for a prominent New York literary agency, gaining valuable insights into the intricacies of the publishing world.
Around 2018, I embarked on the journey of publishing my own works, a venture that inspired the establishment of Blackhearted Story Studios. This venture was born out of a profound realization that our voices are as crucial as the stories we tell; they deserve to be shared with the world.
Blackhearted Story Studios exists as a nurturing space for writers to not only create but also publish and market their literary works. I am dedicated to fostering an environment where writers can cultivate their experiences, build businesses, and explore everything in between. My mission is rooted in the belief that every voice deserves a platform, and through this endeavor, I aim to empower writers to grow and thrive in their creative pursuits.
